This is the official Media launch of next year’s show. Press and VIP guests will be treated to the hospitality of our good friends at the BBC, live music, and press kits. You’ll also get information about all of the exciting events – concerts, exhibitions, competitions – that we have planned leading up to next year’s show; and a special retrospective of artwork from previous CTITC events.
Location: Zula Bar & Yours Truly
This dual art exhibition/Halloween party will be the first party on our pre-convention calendar. More details to be announced soon, but if you’ve been to any of our parties before, you’ll know you don’t want to miss this one.
Location: Bree Street Studios - 11 New Church Street
The art exhibitions mark the beginning of an event-filled week which culminates in the 4th Annual Cape Town International Tattoo Convention. Many of the international artists will have just arrived in town and the exhibitions draw great crowds and intense media attention. There are three separate exhibitions opening on this evening:
‘Body of Work’ is a mixed-media exhibition which explores and re-interprets the tattoo, (and in particular, traditional tattoo motifs) as a contemporary artform.
‘Helmets’ is a special exhibition where some of the country’s best tattoo artists have custom-designed motorcycles helmets. These one-of-a-kind pieces will be auctioned with all proceeds going to charity.
‘Tattoo-themed Putt Putt Course’ – in this unique art installation, Manuela and Allan Gray have taken the traditional miniature golf course and turned it on its head. Each uniquely conceived and constructed hole has its own ‘Old School’ tattoo theme such as ‘True Love’, ‘Mexican Skull’, ‘Man’s Ruin’, etc. The course is fully functional and will be moved to the convention centre for the the Cape Town International Tattoo Convention.

For those of you who have stumbled out of our after-parties in the wee hours or who have been swept out with with the cigarette butts in the early morning, we just want to say...‘you ain’t seen nothing yet!’
